URBAN DECAY SALE AT ULTA

I know these have been up for a while on the Ulta  website but here is a heads up for those who didn't know. Right now Urban Decay has two eyeshadow palettes on sale. The Ammo shadow box which  my mom in law bought me at full price (GRRR) is now $12 bucks and The Deluxe shadow box is $10. Not bad considering earlier this year these where about $34 bucks a pop. Please note these two palettes are on the website they may not be available at the store.

Polish of the week

Polish I love this week is O.P.I 's  ARE WE THERE YET? (TOURING AMERICA COLLECTION) I really love the color of this polish its like a coral pinkish orange, perfect for the spring and summer months. This polish has a very very light shimmer to it and looks great on everyone! but if your on a tight budget and want one similar to this wonderful polish I really recommend Wet n Wild's Blazed. This polish is so pretty and for .99 cents you can't beat that. The polish is a bit shiny compared to O.P.I ARE WE THERE YET? but its a great dupe and you can find this polish at Target, Walgreens, or CVS.

The plan worked!

So I went on my shopping spree and I have to say for my first ever extreme ( EXTREME) coupon spree it was amazing! I get scared to spend money cause honestly I don't have it but when I coupon and know that my hard work is saving my family a ton of money or that I can gift some goodies to my family makes me feel good. So here I present you with my huge haul.

My total before coupons was $180.00 but after my coupons I only spent $26.07 I saved about 84% of my grand total. If you want me to post my entire scenarios please email me I'll try to do every transaction I did.

Target Haul 6/7/2013

So I went to target today, I had decided to do this late last night. I'm also going to make this short since I have to go to the gym. So I did my research before going to the store. I had coupons from the sunday paper, from online coupons I printed out on both Coupon divas website and Krazy coupon lady website. I also had collected coupons from baby Wesley's doctors office. (which by the way if you are a  parent you can always ask or snag a few, they always have diaper and formula coupons there) 
Now I choose Target because once again they stack there and they offer you 5% off using their Cartwheel app and another 5% using their debit card (which is not a credit card it is just linked to your normal bank account). Tip #2 Target credits you .05 cents per bag you bring in (must not be competitors plastic or paper bags) to carry your groceries in. So if you bring in 17 of your totes for your groceries you can save an additional .85cents :) When I get a chance I'll post my scenario for you but here is a picture of all I got. My original total was $77.97 but I only paid out of pocket $33.86 a total savings of $44.11!

Crazy plan for lots of makeup at ULTA!

Ulta is going to have a buy one get one half off starting June 9th and ends June 29th on Almay and Rimmel London cosmetics.  My Almay coupons don't expire till June 16th and the Rimmels don't expire till June 30th. That said as soon as I get my Almay coupons in the mail I'm heading over to Ulta. Here is my plan:

I am going to pick up 10 Almay Color + Care Liquid Balms of my choice, each are going to be $5.99 but on sale I'll get 5 of them for 2.99each. I'm hoping that Ulta will honor my coupons full value making every two balms .98cents. 98 cents X 10 = $4.90

I will also be doing the same thing but on the Almay oil free make up removers I'll be buying 5 of each kind of my choice .98cents and again making 10 items = $4.90

Now on to Rimmel I will be buying 4 Lasting Finish Lipsticks from The Kate Moss collection
Each lipstick is $5.19 but it's on sale bogo half off. (buy one get one half off) making every two $7.78 minus my Rimmel coupons making it then $5.78 

Ok I will then clip two ulta coupons for $3.50 off a $10 purchase. Again that said I am going to split two transactions for maximum savings.

10 Almay lip balms = 4.90 plus 2 Rimmel London lipsticks = 5.78 equaling 10.68 minus Ulta coupon of $3.50 my total will be $7.18 per transaction

I will be getting $140.56 worth of cosmetics for just $14.36!! PHEW! I'll keep you updated if my plan works. :) I will then make my first ever video on the huge haul and possibly review the make up :)

Do you shop at Target? do you have the target debit card? you need to get it! it saves you 5% on your purchase and target stacks coupons! Makeup can be really cheap at target if you have target coupons. Example :

Target sells Almay Cosmetics for about 4.97-4.99 depending on what you buy.

Step #2

clip and save your coupons! A lot of crazy coupon ladies have a folder for all their coupons (I have one too) but since this is a beauty blog as well we can stick to just having a little envelope or mini organizer for your coupons.
Why organize? because that way you can find them faster and know when they expire. When I plan to go to a store I always check the store website for the weekly deals. Example: Last week Wet N Wild had a coupon for $1.00 off all their products.  Great right! well what is sweeter is that Rite Aide and CVS had a sale on the same brand, Buy One get one half off! Sad part is the Wet N wild coupon expired in 10 days of when it was released so you have to use them or they get wasted :( So once again as soon as you get your coupons clip them go over them and organize them. It takes a little time but hey it’s worth it if you think of them as free money.

Let’s get started..

         I’m not going to say I’m a pro as I too am still learning how to save and get the best deal for my buck but I want to share the little knowledge I do have to help you get started. I also don’t want you to get the idea that going shopping is all free you have to spend a little to get a little, catch my drift?  
So let us get started. 

   First homework assignment is to choose the store you shop the most at and I say this because you need to include what you pay in gas. I don’t want you driving around wasting your gas trying to find every item on your list to use with your coupons. That just doesn’t make sense to me. Choosing a store for all your needs is the better way to go so you can get to know it and learn all the rules of the store. Through out this blog I will be focusing on Target, Rite aid, Walgreens, and CVS. You can try this at Walmart if you want but due to long lines, bad customer service, and just the people of Walmart I’ll try avoid it.
Once  you choose your store go to their website or call the manager and ask about all the ways you can save there. Print out the coupon policy for the store of your choice so you know how to talk to them if you ever a problem with them not taking a coupon or honoring a sales paper deal. 

   Second go out and buy your sunday paper or better yet ask your friends, family, and neighbors for theirs. Alot of people don’t like to save and so why not just use up their savings :)
Tip #1 Sunday papers always have some coupons except on holiday weeks. That is just how it is. Every Sunday morning I’ll give you the heads up and let you know if there is going to be any coupons in the paper.
